1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

Bliss Beach Cafe is committed to making every reasonable effort to maintain and increase the accessibility of https://www.blissbeachcafe.com to ensure that persons with disabilities have full and equal enjoyment of Bliss Beach Cafe’s online goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations. We believe that all users, regardless of ability, deserve an equal and excellent digital experience, and we are continuously working to improve accessibility across our website.

2. Accessibility Standards

Bliss Beach Cafe aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological impairments.

Our accessibility efforts are guided by four core principles:

  • Perceivable — Information and user interface components are presented in ways that all users can perceive, including alternative text for images and captions for video content.
  • Operable — Interface components and navigation are operable by keyboard and other assistive technologies, with sufficient time to read and interact with content.
  • Understandable — Information and interface operation are clear and consistent, with readable text and predictable navigation.
  • Robust — Content is built to be compatible with current and future assistive technologies, including screen readers.

3. Measures We Have Taken

  • Incorporating accessibility considerations into our web design and development process
  • Using structured HTML headings and landmarks to support screen reader navigation
  • Providing descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
  • Ensuring sufficient color contrast between text and background elements
  • Using responsive design to support a wide range of screen sizes and devices
  • Ensuring that forms and interactive elements are labeled and keyboard-navigable
  • Avoiding content that flashes or blinks in ways known to cause seizures or other issues
  • Providing skip navigation links for screen reader users

4. Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, some content may not yet fully meet this standard. Known areas we are actively working to improve include:

  • Some older PDF documents may not be fully compatible with screen readers. Accessible versions are available upon request.
  • Some third-party embedded content (such as videos or maps) may have limited accessibility support. We encourage users to contact those providers directly or contact us for alternative access.
  • Some legacy page templates may have limited keyboard navigation support and are being reviewed.
  • Some icons and links may have issues with anchors on certain screen readers. We are reviewing those items.
  • Some pages have duplicate links, specifically for the online ordering link. We are investigating those links to reduce them.
  • Some pages have broken on-page links. We are investigating a solution to remove the broken links.
  • Some text across the site uses background images that automatic tools cannot determine meet the minimum contrast standards. We are actively updating background colors and manually verifying that they meet the standards.
  • The menu page contains various links to incorrect on-page locations. We are adjusting those links to link to the correct locations.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on any page of our website, please contact us using the information below. We will make every effort to provide the information you need in an alternative accessible format.

5. Third-Party Content

Our website may include content, tools, or features provided by third-party vendors. While we work with accessibility-focused vendors where possible, Bliss Beach Cafe cannot fully control the accessibility of third-party content. We encourage users who experience accessibility issues with third-party content to contact us so we can assist in finding an accessible alternative.
